The Macallan project was a unique experience blending 2D animation with virtual reality. Originally a 2D animated short film, the brand wanted to adapt it into an immersive VR experience. We worked closely with the 2D animation studio to reimagine their drawings in 3D. Some elements, like a tree that was originally cut off by the frame, had to be fully redesigned for VR. We developed a custom pipeline for this hybrid workflow, aiming to preserve the charm of the original animation while making it fully immersive. The final experience feels like stepping into a living 2D cartoon that surrounds you.
